Fortis Hospital Mohali recently hosted a symposium on colorectal cancer, attended by over 130 delegates, including leading colorectal cancer surgeons and oncologists. The event aimed to educate healthcare professionals about the risk factors, symptoms, prevention strategies, and latest advancements in diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancer.

The symposium featured expert discussions on innovative therapeutic approaches, minimally invasive procedures, and the future of cancer care. Dr Jitender Rohila, Consultant GI Surgical Oncology and Robotic Surgeon at Fortis Hospital Mohali, was among the experts who shared insights on the disease.

According to the experts, colorectal cancer is emerging as a significant public health concern in India, with its incidence steadily rising over the past few decades. Despite being one of the most preventable forms of cancer, it claims countless lives each year. The experts emphasised the importance of regular screening in combating the disease.
