The body of a man who went missing was found in the pond of Sampli village.

The deceased has been identified as Harjinder Singh, a resident Chunni Kalan village. On December 4, he had gone to attend the wedding ceremony of his friend at Sampli.

In a complaint to the Chunni police, Nachhatar Singh, the victim’s father-in-law, stated that Harjinder had gone to Sampli on December 4 to attend his friend’s wedding and did not return home. He said on Wednesday, he got information that a body was lying in the pond of Sampli village. He went there and found that it was his son-in-law’s body.

The complainant stated that the hairs of the deceased were loose and his lower body was naked. He suspected that someone had killed his son-in-law and threw the body in the pond.

Giving information today, the police said they had registered a case following the statement of the victim’s father-in-law and started an investigation into it.
