The police have arrested a four-member gang involved in several cases of snatching and rioting in the Kharar area. The police said the gang used to target innocent people.

The suspects were identified as Jashanpreet Singh, Harfdeep Singh, Kabir Singh, all residents of Chamkaur Sahib, and Gurmehar Singh of Fatehgarh Sahib.

The police said they recovered swords, rods, sharp-edged weapons, and a car used in the incidents from the suspects. Police officials said a case under Sections 379-B, 323, 341, 148, and 149 of the Indian Penal Code was registered at the Sadar Kharar police station on June 29.

Kharar 1 DSP Karan Singh Sandhu said, “The police are questioning the suspects thoroughly, and many cases are likely to be solved.”
