Four held with 83-gm heroin

Mohali, March 8
The Mohali police have arrested four persons for possessing 83 gram heroin in two separate cases today.
The suspects have been identified as Navjot Singh, a resident of Una, Sahil Kumar, a resident of Gurdaspur, Kulwinder Singh, a resident of Hallomajra, Chandigarh and Sagar, a resident of Ramdarbar, Chandigarh.
Two cases under the NDPS Act have been registered against Navjot and Sahil at the Phase 1 and against Kulwinder and Sagar at the Mataur police station.
According to the police, Kulwinder and Sagar were nabbed from Phase 7 traffic lights here when they were on their way towards Mohali from Chandigarh. On checking, 48 gram heroin was recovered from their possession.
They will be produced in the local court on tomorrow. According to the police, Navjot and Sahil were living in Sunny Enclave, Kharar and Lalru, respectively and the duo was working in a call centre here. They were nabbed near Civil Hospital, Phase VI, here. On checking, the police recovered 35 gram heroin from their possession.
Navjot and Sahil were produced in the local court today, which has sent them to one-day police custody.
