At around 11 pm on November 23, a man hailing from Himachal Pradesh and currently residing in Kalka was attacked near the Railway Ground by a group of youths. The assailants allegedly surrounded him, assaulted him and snatched his mobile phone, Rs 1,000 in cash and important documents before fleeing after issuing death threats.

A case of robbery was registered at Kalka Police Station on November 24.

Sharing further details, Deputy Commissioner of Police Srishti Gupta said an investigation was launched immediately and a special team led by Inspector Kamaljit Singh, Kalka station house officer, was constituted.

The team, including Head Constable Vasu Dev and other personnel, traced and apprehended four suspects on November 26 — barely 48 hours after the incident—through local intelligence and area surveillance.

During questioning, all four were found to be minors aged between 15 and 17. Initial investigation confirmed their involvement in the offence. The stolen mobile phone was also recovered from their possession.

Following due legal procedure, the juveniles were produced before the Juvenile Justice Board the same day and subsequently sent to the Ambala Juvenile Correctional Home.
