The police have arrested a man accused of raping a 14-year-old girl who had been absconding for over four months. Deputy Commissioner of Police Srishti Gupta said on June 5, a teenage living with her family in Panchkula lodged a complaint at the Women Police Station, alleging that a youth from her neighbourhood had sexually assaulted her. A case was registered.

Assistant Sub-Inspector Sudesh, along with her team, traced the accused to Uttar Pradesh and apprehended him. He was remanded to judicial custody.
