A befitting welcome was formally conveyed by the management, staff and senior students of CGC, Jhanjeri, to freshers.

Manpreet Singh, Superintendent of Police, (Rural) Mohali, was the chief guest and Kulwinder Billa, Punjabi singer, the guest of honour.

Students presented various items, including religious songs, Kashmiri “rouf” dance, qwwalli, “natti” of Himachal Pradesh, Haryanvi dance and giddha and bhangra. Modelling rounds were the highlight of the function. The prize winners were Mr Fresher ’21 – Vedant Sharma; Ms Fresher ’21 – Dilpreet Kaur; Bhartiya Nari – Anshul; Executive Walk – Varinder Benipal; Best Personality Male – Aditya Sharma; and Best Personality Female – Tanvir.

Speaking on the occasion, Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC, said the students were being welcomed to the college not only on this day but the CGC would also welcome them throughout their life, even after they had passed out of the institution.
