Ghaggar Bridge thrown open to public

In a step towards transforming Panchkula into a smart and sustainable city, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for multiple development projects valued at over Rs 55 crore today.

Among the most significant new projects was the Rs 50 crore bridge over the Ghaggar River, designed to ease traffic and enhance regional connectivity. The newly inaugurated bridge, a part of the PR-7 Ring Road, directly connects National Highways 5, 7, and 152 and will drastically reduce travel distance by 5 to 7 km for commuters between Panchkula, Zirakpur and South Chandigarh.

The 360-meter-long and 16-meter-wide bridge promises to decongest traffic and serve as a vital link for Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Chandigarh.

During a public address, CM Saini emphasised the government’s commitment to creating a clean, healthy, and modern Panchkula in alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a Developed India by 2047. He noted that Panchkula’s development plays a key role in shaping Haryana’s future.

Dispensaries in Sectors 28 and 31, a Gram Panchayat office in Kanouli, a state museum in Sector 5, a shooting range in Sector 32 were among the other projects announced.
