Ghumanhera Risers Hockey Academy recorded a 3-1 win over SDAT Hockey Academy in the opening match of the Punjab Hockey League (PHL) 2025, which kicked off at the Olympian Balbir Singh Mohali International Hockey Stadium on Sunday.

The event is organised by Roundglass Hockey Academy in collaboration with Hockey Punjab. In the second match, the team of Sports Authority of India NCOE, Sonepat, slammed Naval Tata Hockey Academy Jamshedpur 6-1, with Navraj Singh scoring a brace.

Roundglass Hockey Academy secured a 2-0 win over Namdhari Hockey Academy in front of a spirited home crowd, with goals from Jobanpreet Singh and Gurwinder Singh. In the last match of the day, PIS Surjit Hockey Academy logged a commanding 4-1 triumph over SGPC Hockey Academy.
