As many as 50 academic leaders of 50 international universities from 26 countries participated in the inaugural ceremony of Global Education Summit at Chandigarh University, Gharuan.

The new Education Policy is working on making India a “Vishwa Guru” once again in the global world, said Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, Minister of State for External Affairs and Education. The summit is being organised on the theme “Social Innovation for Sustainable Development through Global Academic Partnerships.” Prof Patrizio Bianchi, Minister of Public Education, Italy; AS Kiran Kumar, former Chairman of ISRO; Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chancellor, were also present. — TNS
