The MBBS student has been suspended from regular classes till December 31 and the intern for a week. As per the inquiry report, the fight took place over some personal issue.

The authorities also took action against the other interns involved in the fight and banned their entry to the boys’ hostel. A majority of interns have dinner at the boys’ hostel of MBBS students. The authorities have now issued an order that the interns need to have the written permission to have food at the boys’ hostel.

Meanwhile, Dr Rajan Singla, principal, GMC, said: “Both the student and the intern have tendered an apology in writing. Action has been taken on the basis of the inquiry report.”
