Gopal Sweets outlet in Panchkula raided, samples taken

The Food Safety Department today raided the Sector 20 branch of Gopal Sweets here and collected samples following a complaint of fungus in sweets.

The team headed by Panchkula Food Safety Officer Dr Gaurav Sharma raided the outlet and took samples of “imarti”. The raids were conducted after the department received a complaint about fungus in ‘imarti’.

Dr Sharma said a consumer had claimed that he had purchased ‘imarti’ from the Sector 20 outlet and the entire packet was covered with fungus.

He said the samples would be sent for testing at the laboratory in Karnal and further action would be taken after receiving the report.
