Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria attended the 31st annual lecture organised by the Panchnad Shodh Sansthan as chief guest and also released two books.

The Governor lauded the institute for choosing a topic like “Truth of Partition of India” and praised its efforts. He emphasised that it was extremely important to acquaint the youth with their history and culture so that they could get the right direction and inspiration in their lives.

On this occasion, writer and thinker Prashant Paul delivered a lecture on the topic “Truth of Partition of India”. He highlighted the events during the Partition, the role of leaders and the untouched aspects of the freedom struggle.

On the occasion two books published by the sansthan were released, titled ‘Vichar Pravah’ and ‘Human Values and Rights in Quran’.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
