The school conducted a green activity to mark Vanmahotsava. While students of Classes I and II sowed seed, those of Class IV and V planted saplings. A poster-making competition on the topic, “Save Forests”, was organised for the children of Class VI. Senior students took part in a slogan-writing contest on the theme, “Go Green, Go Clean”.

Stepping Stones Sr Sec School

Students took part in a tree plantation and conservation drive during which saplings were planted. The programme was held in collaboration with the Residents Welfare Society in a park of Sector 37. Medicinal plants were distributed among local residents.

NSS volunteers and Banyan Eco Club of the school organised a tree plantation drive on the school campus on the occasion of Vanmahotsava. Neena Kalia, Deputy Director of School Education III; and Dr Nemichand Goliya, State Liaison Officer, Chandigarh NSS, planted saplings. Principal Ashu Walia, NSS programme officers Prachi Mann and Praveen were also present.

Hansraj Public School, Panchkula

The school observed Vanmahotsava Week, during which various activities such as poster-making, poetry-recitation and role play were organised to motivate students to plant saplings and conserve the environment. The students presented poems and speeches on the theme, “Conservation”, during assembly every day. Carrying banners and posters, 200 students took out a march to create awareness among residents. The march was flagged off by Principal Jaya Bhardwaj.
