The police said the victims had taken the parking lot on contract. Yesterday, they had an altercation with two persons, identified as Mukesh and Tewari, which snowballed into a fight. The accused were thrashed after which they left the spot only to return with their associates and attacked Gurwinder and Deepak.

In the melee, three gunshots were fired in which the duo sustained injuries and were admitted to the hospital.

The police said Gurwinder and Mukesh, who was injured when he was assaulted, of the two groups were not in a position to record their statements. Further action would be taken after recording the statements of both sides, added Zirakpur SP Jaspinder Singh.
