Gurjot hails from Nakoder (Jalandhar), and has been training at RGHA since July 2021, while 19-year-old Arshdeep is from Amritsar and enrolled with the academy in 2021. He was part of the junior team that toured Europe in May. Gurjot impressed everyone in his senior team debut and will now look forward to making use of that experience in the Sultan Johar Cup, one of the most prestigious tournaments for junior players.

“I learned a lot from my stint with the senior side in the Champions Trophy. I will use that experience now to perform to my full capability in the tournament. We have a very good squad, and I have played with them for quite some time. I hope this teamwork will help us get the desired results in Malaysia,” said Gurjot. “This is my first major tournament for the national side. I am excited to be selected for such a prestigious tournament and I will give my 100% to the team and help us achieve the desired results,” said Arshdeep.

India will begin their campaign against Japan on October 19, followed by a clash with Great Britain on October 20. After a day’s rest, India will face hosts Malaysia on October 22, followed by a match with Australia on October 23. They will play their last league match against New Zealand on October 25.
