Gursimar Badwal carded a steady 3-under 69 in the final round to win the sixth leg of the Women’s Pro Golf Tour at the Classic Golf & Country Club in Gurugram today. This is the first win for the Kapurthala golfer after her victory in the second leg of the Tour last year.

Gursimar (79-67-69), who was tied 3rd at the end of the second round, sank four birdies in exchange of a lone bogey in the final round which helped her finish with a total of 1-under 215 and two shots ahead of Chandigarh’s Saaniya Sharma and Delhi’s Vani Kapoor, who shared the second place at 217.

Saaniya (79-71-67) , who was tied 10th at the halfway stage, jumped to second place with an error free 5-under, while Vani (73-72-72) slipped a spot after she returned a second successive par.

Neha Tripathi (73-74-71) was a shot further behind in 4th place, while overnight joint leader and amateur Asmitha Sathish finished 5th with a total of 219.

Pranavi Urs (74), Siddhi Kapoor (74) and Gaurika Bishnoi (73) were 6th, 7th and 8th, respectively. Round 1 leader Hunar Mittal (79), the 15-year-old from Chandigarh, shared the 9th place with Oviya Reddi (79).
