The first edition of Chandigarh University Scholars’ Summit kicked-off with felicitation of top achievers of its admission-cum-scholarship entrance test, the Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test 2025 (CUCET 2025).

Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria inaugurated the summit, which will continue till June 8, as the chief guest in the presence of Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament and varsity Chancellor Satnam Singh Sandhu along with other dignitaries.

In his keynote address, Kataria said, “If India is to become Viksit Bharat as has been envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi by 2047 then the role of temples of knowledge such as Chandigarh University will be pivotal. The varsity has been offering scholarships worth Rs 210 crore annually.”

Emphasising the importance of research in academia, the Governor said, “Aligned with PM Narendra Modi’s vision, along with providing education, Chandigarh University lays special emphasis on research-oriented academia as more than 4,300 patents have been filed by CU students and faculty members.”

In the first edition of CU Scholars’ Summit, as many as 2,516 CUCET toppers including 918 meritorious girl students from 20 states were felicitated with CUCET scholarship in 110 academic streams (UG-PG).

On the opening day, the summit welcomed students of engineering with interactive sessions with motivational speakers, industry experts and celebrities. Sonal Goel, secretary to the government of Tripura, Influencer Gaurav Taneja (Flying Beast), singer and actress Khushboo Grewal, actor Binnu Dhillon, singer G Khan and actress Kanika Maan were also there.

An achievers and alumni interaction session was also held with 30 achievers and nine alumni of Chandigarh University which helped students in gaining valuable practical insights across various disciplines.
