Governor orders better amenities in Chandigarh Transport Area

Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria visited the Chandigarh Transport Area in Sector 26, here on Sunday.

He chaired a meeting with the representatives of Chandigarh Transport Association (CTA). During the meeting, the CTA representatives apprised the Administrator of various issues pertaining to the Transport Area, including high parking fees for large vehicles, need for renovation of road and neat and clean stay, eatery and shed facility for drivers.

Kataria inspected the infrastructural facilities of the Transport Area and directed officials concerned to improve these facilities in consultation with all stakeholders. The facilities must be optimised effectively to meet their requirements and ensure efficient utilisation, he added.

Principal Secretary to Governor Vivek Pratap Singh, Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Amit Kumar, MC Joint Commissioner Sumeet Sihag, MC Chief Engineer Sanjay Arora and other officials of the Chandigarh Administration were also present on the occasion.
