Addressing civil servants at an “ethics conclave” organised under Mission Karmayogi here on Monday, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar emphasised the need for building character before physical (infrastructural) development. He said once character building was ensured, infrastructural development was bound to follow.

CM Khattar said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the mission to instil a sense of morality among government officers. “It is the responsibility of all officers and employees to boost people’s confidence in the system,” he said.

He said eliminating distrust for the government among people was a big challenge and could only be achieved by bringing about a change in the vision and style of working.
