The squad, along with officials from the departments of Weights and Measures and Food and Civil Supplies, conducted the raid at Satyam Indane Gas Service godown on a tip-off. Cylinders were unloaded from four vehicles and on checking, all these were found to be having 1 to 5 kg less gas. The raiding team was checking the records of the gas agency in this matter at the time of the filing of this report.

Inspector Dinesh Kumar, in-charge of the CM’s Flying Squad, said cylinders in all vehicles that were checked were found to be having less gas. He said the drivers fled the scene. The raiding team also found equipment for extracting gas at the spot.

The inspector said records of the agency were now being checked and action would be taken against the person involved in it. He added that those found selling cylinders on the black market would have to face the music. —
