Haryana Governor exhorts public to plant, nurture saplings

Governor Ashim Kumar Ghosh along with his wife Mitra Ghosh today planted saplings at the Tourism Department’s Mountain Quail Resort in Morni, saying tree plantation was essential for the protection of the environment.

Ghosh said while planting a sapling was important, its care and protection were equally vital, adding. “Only then will the sapling grow into a tree that provides shade and contributes to keeping the environment clean and healthy.”

He urged the public to plant at least one sapling each and to ensure its proper upkeep.

Following the plantation drive, the Governor visited the historic fort at Morni and offered suggestions to Forest Department officials on further developing and enhancing it in a more attractive manner.

Deputy Commissioner Satpal Sharma, SDM Chandrakant Kataria, DCP Srishti Gupta, District Forest Officer Vishal Kaushik, BDPO Ankur, Naib Tehsildar Morni Pradyumna, and other concerned officials were also present at the occasion.
