Keeping in view any emergent situation due to spread of Covid-19, the UT Health Department, Chandigarh, has cancelled all type of leaves of medical, paramedical and ministerial staffs in the department, whereas the Government Medical College Hospital, Sector 32, has cancelled ex-India leave of its staff members.

“In case of any exigency/emergency, leave will be recommended by the controlling officer before the same is approved by the Director of Health and Family Welfare, UT Administration,” read the official orders.

These directives were sent to Medical Superintendent, GMSH-16, district family welfare officer, nodal officer, NHM, assistant director malaria, all senior medical officers and medical officers in various dispensaries, superintendent, food and drugs, food safety cell, and all drug inspectors. “Any staff members, who are already on ex-India leave and have to resume their duties in GMCH, shall intimate on official email `dpgmch-chd@nic.in’ about their prospective date of joining, country/ city visited in abroad, and intimate the conditions of Covid-19 in that country,” read the official orders by BS Chavan, Director Principal, Government Medical College.

The Mohendra Chaudhary Zoological Park Zoo authority has decided to close Chhatbir Zoo till March 31 following directions by the Central Zoo Authority (CZA). M saudagar, zoo director, said that the zoo would be closed to the public from Tuesday onwards and would remain close till further notice. — TNS
