Heat wave conditions are expected to persist in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh on Thursday and Friday.

According to the Chandigarh Meteorological Department, there is a heat wave when the maximum temperature is 4.5 degrees more than the normal.

However, light rain is expected during the weekend, which will give some relief from the hot weather conditions.

Chandigarh’s temperature is expected to touch the 40 degree mark on Wednesday. 

According to the Met department, the city’s maximum temperature on Tuesday was 39.8 degrees Celsius, three degrees more than the normal. While the minimum temperature was 27.8 degrees Celsius, also three degrees more than the normal.
