A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a CTU bus near the Garcha turn, Industrial Area, Phase I. The victim has been identified as Kulwinder Singh, aka Kala, a plumber.
According to the police, complainant Pardeep Verma, a resident of Mani Majra, who was returning home on a scooter from the railway station, reported that a pedestrian was crossing the road near the railway station when a CTU bus hit him.
The victim was seriously injured. The police were informed about the incident following which a PCR vehicle reached the spot and rushed the victim to the PGI, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The police said the CTU bus was being driven by Mahender Singh. The police have registered a case against the bus driver at the Industrial Area police station. The driver was arrested and later released on bail.
