Chandigarh: Hockey Chandigarh will on Friday conduct trials to select senior women’s team for the upcoming 11th Hockey India National Championship. The trials will be held at the Sector 42 Sports Complex from 10.30 am. Players registered with Hockey Chandigarh will be eligible to participate in the trials. — TNS

Half-marathon tomorrow

Chandigarh: Fit India Freedom Run 2.0, which was launched on August 13, will conclude on October 2. Starting from August 21, the cadets of 2nd Chandigarh NCC Battalion have logged 3,654 km till date under the guidance of Commanding Officer Col Umakant Sharma. Lt Nikhlesh Thakur of DAV College said the cadets ran an average of 10 km daily. The event will culminate with a half-marathon on October 2. — TNS

2 kickboxers for world meet

Chandigarh: City kickboxers Aksshat Kharbanda (19) and Gourav Kamboj (26) have been selected for the World Kickboxing Championship to be held in Egypt. Dr Pandit Shikha, general secretary, Kickboxing Association of Chandigarh, congratulated the players and coach Harinder Rawat. — TNS
