Mohlai Deputy Commissioner Girish Dayalan said, “People using quarantine facilities at the hotels will have to pay Rs 2,000 to Rs 2,500 per day. Passengers coming from abroad can afford to stay in paid isolation . This will also bring down the range of mutually contacted people.”

According to sources, several passengers have complained about poor hygiene and sanitation condition required for social distancing at isolation wards.

Dayalan said upon screening, high-risk persons will be safely transported to the designated quarantine facilities and the requisite transport arrangements will be made by the Secretary RTA, Mohali.

He said such persons will be stamped on the back and on the right hand with an indelible ink indicating the last day of quarantine.

Dayalan said hotels and quarantine facilities will be guarded round the clock by the police and enforcement team will keep check on quarantined passengers.
