Chandigarh, December 5

The manager of a test centre located in the Industrial Area has been arrested for leaking the question paper of Haryana SSC ITI instructor exam. He took Rs 10 lakh to Rs 15 lakh from each beneficiary.

The suspect has been identified as 24-year-old Nitish, a native of Rajasthan working as manager at Mapple Tech Computer Lab, plot number 153, Industrial Area, Phase II.

Cops also rounded up 11 candidates for questioning who were supposed to appear in the exam. They were yet to pay the money for the question paper.

The police have recovered audio recording, voice notes and WhatsApp chats between key suspect Nitish and the candidates. The police have also seized the mobile phones of some candidates.

UT SSP Nilambari Jagadale said the police got a tip-off that an online exam of the Haryana SSC for the posts of ITI instructor is going to be conducted at different computer labs situated in Chandigarh and Haryana.

The SSP said their sources also revealed that suspects Nitish, Rakesh, alias Rakka, Manjit Singh and Amit were going to supply the question paper to the candidates, who had gathered at Mapple Tech Computer Lab.

On verification, it was found that Nitish was having a telephonic conversation with Rakesh and Manjit Singh regarding supply of the question paper.

The police then conducted a raid at the test centre. Nitish, along with candidates Kapil Dev (29), Kapil (37), Neeraj (29), Narinder Singh (33), Ajay Kumar (30), Vikas (25), Anudeep (29), Sandeep (34), Naveen Bhardwaj (28), Pardeep (29) and Deepika (35), and two other persons,
