In line with these instructions, the Anti-Illegal Mining Team-2 of the Panchkula Police, led by Inspector Hitendra Singh, carried out a major operation in the Raipur Rani area today. The team received information that illegal mining was being carried out near Shahjahanpur village using a JCB machine and tipper trucks. Following the action, Raipur Rani SHO Pritam Singh and the Dial-112 team were called to the site. The police seized one tipper truck and one JCB machine and sent these to the Raipur Rani police station. The Mining Department was also formally notified for further legal proceedings in this connection.
The Police Commissioner said illegal mining would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He said strictest legal action would continue against those involved in such activities.
The police have made it clear that the joint crackdown on illegal mining would continue, and immediate action would be taken wherever such activities were detected in the district.
