Chandigarh: The police have arrested a consultant, Vishal of Mani Majra. in a case of immigration fraud. Sunita Gill of Ram Darbar had reported that Vishal allegedly took Rs 91,000 from her for arranging US visa, but failed.

Police meet residents’ assn

Mohali: The Dera Bassi police on Monday held a meeting with RWA of GBP Roosewood Society-2 and discussed the issue of tenant verification and increased police patrolling during evening hours. Police officials suggested to set up camp by Saanjh scheme for tenant verification and instructed the PCR party to increase patrolling. Dera Bassi DSP Bikramjit Singh Brar said the residents were briefed about Mission Nigran of the Mohali police.

Mohali: A Mohali court on Monday handed Jarnail Singh Bajwa, Managing Director of Bajwa Developer Ltd, the chargesheet in the six cases of cheating registered at the NRI police station, Mohali. The court fixed the next date of hearing for appearance on November 20.

Woman among five arrested

Zirakpur: The police on Monday arrested five persons, including a woman, for immoral trafficking under the garb of a spa centre near Ranjan plaza, Zirakpur. On a tip-off, the police raided the saloon and arrested Sanjay Kumar, Inderjeet, Varinder Singh and Rahul Ansari.
