The police have registered cheating cases against immigration consultants for duping people on the pretext of sending them abroad.

Jagat Singh of Kurukshetra reported that he along with others was duped of Rs 68.93 lakh by Khush Pal Singh who runs his office in Sector 17. The police also registered a case against Prism Service Company, Sector 20, on a complainant filed by Mohammad Abid, a resident of Kolkata, who, along with the others, was allegedly duped of Rs 18 lakh.

Another complainant, Gurnam Singh of Hoshiarpur alleged that he was duped of Rs 37,000 by Arar Singh of Sector 8. A case has been registered at the Sector 3 police station. A cheating case has also been registered against Anurag Sharma of Sector 38 on a complaint filed by Dalbara Singh of Sector 51. He alleged that he was duped of Rs 5 lakh.
