He focused on key opportunities and trends in biosensors and touched upon various aspects, including sensing techniques, applications of biosensors and technology commercialisation.

The IMTECH has embarked upon two internship programmes of six to 12 months duration to bridge the gap between skill set available with students and that which are required by the industry. Through this initiative, the IMTECH aims to provide graduate and post graduate students a hands-on experience of experimental sciences. Students would get access to laboratory, learn basic biotechnology techniques and get acclimatised in research environment. This internship is free of cost.

Dr Manoj Raje, Officiating Director, IMTECH, said, “Academic programmes in India focus on imparting knowledge, but lack in providing first-hand experimental experience. This programme will provide real time experience and demonstration. Students will get mentorship from our scientists.” — TNS
