To mark the 40th National Eye Donation Fortnight, the PGI Eye Bank organised an awareness drive at the Sector 17 Plaza on Saturday evening. The event aimed at educating citizens and encourage voluntary pledges for eye donation.

Musical treat at New Chandigarh school

The New Chandigarh campus of Strawberry Fields High School resonated with the magic of music, as a concert on Sunday afternoon brought together young talent and seasoned artistry. In a spellbinding collaboration between the Durga Das Foundation and Nipun Cheema’s Colab Piano Studio, students from eager beginners to accomplished level 8 performers took the centre stage to present a wide repertoire of pieces. “The idea is to nurture young musicians by giving them the platform and confidence to perform,” said Atul Khanna, director of the foundation.

Cricket meet from Sept 20

The 30th edition of All India JP Atray Memorial Cricket Tournament will be played from September 20 at various stadiums, including the PCA New Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, IS Bindra Cricket Stadium, Mohali, the Sector 16 Cricket Stadium in Chandigarh, Tau Devi Lal Cricket Stadium at Sector 3 in Panchkula and Mahajan Cricket Academy, Chandigarh. Twelve teams, including PCA Colts, Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association, Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association, Union Territory Cricket Association Chandigarh and Indian Railways, will play the tournament.
