A demolition drive of the Municipal Corporation was postponed today after a protest by the residents in Sector 46. Since morning a large number of people had gathered outside a temple in Sector 46A, fearing that the UT Administration and Municipal Corporation might demolish their place of worship. Area councillor Gurpreet Singh of the Congress also reached the spot. He said the demolition drive was stopped after he took up the matter with officials.

Skipper Gurinder Singh’s unbeaten 100 off 125 balls led Terrace Zone to a first innings victory over Sukhna Zone in the UTCA Senior Men’s Multi Day Tournament. Opting to bat, Sukhna Zone posted 305, powered by Amrit Lubana’s 101. Gurinder guided Terrace Zone to 370/5 and a decisive 65-run lead. Karan Sharma (2/59) was the pick of the bowlers.
