Chandigarh: Incidents of theft were reported at two showrooms in Sector 32. One of the complainants, Ranjit Singh, a resident of Kaimbwala, reported theft of Rs 15,000 and some documents after an unknown person broke the lock of his shop and committed the theft. Another complaint was made by a woman, who said that some unknown person broke the lock of her shop. She is yet to find out if anything was stolen. The police have registered cases at the Sector 34 police station.

Man held with pistol, cartridges

Chandigarh: The UT police have arrested a 21-year-old man with a country-made pistol and three cartridges. Accused Ajay, a resident of Bathinda, was arrested near the Sector 34 gurdwara. The police have registered a case under the Arms Act.
