Over 900 participants from Jammu, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Assam have registered for a webinar on “Biorisk assessment and management: Preparedness for future researchers’, organised by Prof Archana Bhatnagar, Chairperson, Department of Biochemistry, Panjab University (PU), today.

Prof Bhatnagar emphasised that it’s time to incorporate biosafety in the curriculum from now.

The forum comprises several speakers, including Dr Charu Sharma, senior principal scientist at CSIR-IMTECH, addressed the key features of biorisk assessment and its management strategies in response to a global epidemic. Experts discussed different approaches of handling such epidemics and emphasised that harmonisation of biosafety, biosecurity, research and communication were necessary parameters.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
