Chinu was granted 28-day parole on January 8. He was supposed to return and surrender at the jail on February 6. The police rearrested him on February 20 and registered a fresh case under Section 9 of the Punjab Good Conduct Prisoners (Temporary Release) Act, 1962, at the Maloya police station.
Man loses ~59K in ATM card swap
Chandigarh: A fraudster reportedly swapped the ATM card of a Zirakpur resident and later withdrew money from his account. Varun Sharma reported that a man swapped his father’s ATM card at a booth in Hallo Majra and later withdrew Rs 59,000 from his account. The police have registered a case.
Scanner stolen from Civil Sectt
Chandigarh: A Canon scanner has been stolen from the Haryana Civil Secretariat here. The police have registered a case at the Sector 3 police station on a complaint filed by an official, Arun Kumar. The theft came to light recently and the case was registered yesterday.
