The astronomy Olympiad orientation and selection camp is being held at IISER to provide training to students selected through national level exams and also test their understanding of concepts and techniques in astronomy and astrophysics.

A total of 54 students were selected for Astronomy Astronomy Olympiad Orientation Cum Selection Camp from close to 500 students after the Indian National Astronomy Olympiad. A team of five students will be selected to represent the country in the International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics 2025 to be held in Mumbai in August.

The camp consists of lectures, tutorials, telescope setup and handling and sky observation sessions.
