Inter-school meet: Chitkara lads beat St Anne’s in U-14 football

Chandigarh, July 29

Chitkara International School, Sector 25, registered a 4-0 win over St Anne’s School, Sector 32, during the ongoing inter-school football tournament for boys’ U-14 category. The Sector 25 team dominated throughout the match to confirm an easy win. Ayan netted the opening goal in the fifth minute, while Surdeep doubled the lead in the 11th minute. Just a minute later, Yuvraj made it 3-0 and Kapish scored the final goal in the 26th minute.

St Xavier’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44, defeated Ankur Public School, Sector 14, by a solitary goal. Shiven netted the only goal of the match in the fourth minute. Government Model High School, Sector 29, also recorded a 1-0 win over Government Model High School, RCI, Dhanas, as Ranjit scored in the 38th minute. In the last match, St John’s High School, Sector 26, recorded an 8-0 win over Sri Guru Harkrishan Model School, Sector 38. Aditya (2nd, 3rd, 6th, 16th, 19th) scored five goals, including a hat-trick, while Arhaan, Dhruvis and Riyirth netted a goal each.

GMSS-16 win softball title

The girls’ U-14 softball team of Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), Sector 16, won the inter-school final by logging a 3-1 win over the GMSSS, Sector 8. Carmel Convent School, Sector 9, claimed the third position by logging a 24-8 win over Sacred Heart School, Sector 26. In the boys’ U-14 event, Ryan International School, Sector 49, registered a 15-0 win over Saupin’s School, Sector 32.

St Anne’s beat SGGSPS in badminton

In the boys’ U-14 badminton meet, St Anne’s team defeated SGGSPS, Sector 35. The side logged a 2-0 win to advance ahead. Stepping Stones, Sector 37, logged an identical 2-0 win over DAV School, Sector 39, and DAV School, Sector 8, logged a 2-1 win over the GMSSS, Sector 43.

Carmel Convent defeat Shivalik school

In the second round of girls’ U-14 chess tournament, Carmel Convent defeated Shivalik Public School, Sector 41, 3-1. Sacred Heart School, Sector 26, ousted Ashiana School, Sector 46, 4-0 and St Kabir School, Sector 26, ousted Chitkara International 3-2. KB DAV School, Sector 7, recorded a 3-1 win over Delhi Public School, Sector 40, and St Stephen’s School, Sector 45, outplayed Ryan International 3-1.

Strawberry, Saupin’s lads register victory

The cagers of Strawberry Fields High School, Sector 26, and Saupin’s School, Sector 32, logged win in their respective matches of the boys’ U-14 basketball meet. The Sector 32 team defeated Ashian School 21-6, while the Sector 26 squad logged a 22-8 win over First Step School.
