The pair of Jaya Verma and Kabit Anhad Kaur Dhiraj defeated Chaitanya Sharma and Mishika Bhatt 21-9 21-8 to march into the girls’ U-15 doubles final at the State Badminton Championship underway at the Sector 38 Sports Complex. In the second semifinal, the pair of Divnoor Kaur and Hargun Kaur posted a 21-12 21-10 win over Samaira Arora and Sehaj Preet Kaur.

The team of Kushal Khokhar and Luvyaan Singh Kakkar moved into boys’ U-15 doubles final by defeating Aayush Anand and Riaan Panchal 21-7 21-16, while the team of Ans Kumar Khare and Hiyan Yadav stunned Adrit Nakra and Harsh Rana 21-17 21-9.

Pawani Verma and Sirat Baidwan defeated Aadya Singh Meena and Aarna Sapra 21-3 21-2 to set up the title clash in the girls’ U-13 doubles event. The pair will be facing Manmeet Kaur and Riddhima, who defeated Arnaaz Kaur and Kaylin 21-19 21-12, in the final.

In the mixed doubles U-17 semis, Tusya Nakra and Vanshika defeated Shashank Saini and Ayana 21-13 21-9, while Aditya Rasali and Pratibha ousted Ravish Poonia and Hargun Kaur 21-12 21-17.

In the mixed doubles U-15 category, the team of Yug Parmar and Kabit Anhad Kaur Dhiraj recorded a stunning comeback win over Abhijay Anand and Parul Rani 18-21 21-14 21-15 to cement their place in the final. The team of Agamvir Singh and Jaya Verma logged a 19-21 21-14 21-14 win over Aryan Makkar and Divnoor Kaur in the second semi.

In the boys’ U-15 singles semis, Sector 38 trainee Yug Parmar defeated Agamvir Singh after a neck-and-neck tie. Parmar won the first game 21-17, but went down 14-21 in the next. He was trailing in the decider, before logging a 21-14 victory.

In the girls’ U-17 semi, Parul Rani defeated Vanshika 21-17 21-16, while in the boys’ U-17 event, Vihaan Kathpalia posted a 21-18 21-16 win over Sushain Bindal. In the girls’ U-15 semis, Jaya Verma defeated Divnoor Kaur 21-23 21-11 21-11, and Kabit Anhad Kaur Dhiraj ousted Parul Rani 21-14 21-15.
