The Airport Advisory Committee has constituted a team of officials of the Indian Air Force, Chandigarh airport and Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula civic bodies to jointly inspect and clean all garbage hotspots critical for the airport safety. Unusual bird activity around the airport poses threat to flight safety and delays operations.

In a meeting on Saturday, Chandigarh MP Manish Tewari and Anandpur Sahib MP Malvinder Singh Kang discussed with the stakeholders steps to be taken in the coming days.

Pabhat, Bishanpura, Kandala, Badhmajra and Jagatpura villages have been identified as the problem areas in the past. Authorities have repeatedly flagged the issue during meetings in past.
