Juvenile detained for snatching

Chandigarh: A 16-year-old boy has been detained by the UT police for snatching a mobile phone. Rekha (19) of Hallo Majra reported that she was going towards Ram Darbar bus stand on Sunday when a pedestrian ran away after snatching her phone. A case was registered at the Sector 31 police station.

Youth arrested for stabbing

Chandigarh: A 22-year-old youth, Deepu, has been arrested for stabbing a man at Hallo Majra. Harnek Singh had reported that he was returning home from a religious function on Saturday night when Deepu and his friend attacked him. He was stabbed him with a knife on the shoulder and stomach.

Man nabbed with pistol, cartridges

Chandigarh: Braham Dutt Mishra, alias Lucky, a resident of Phase I, Industrial Area, was arrested near the ISBT, Sector 43, with a pistol and two cartridges. He has a criminal past with eight cases, including three of attempt to murder, registered against him in Chandigarh. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused.
