Newly appointed Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria will hold his first meeting with officials of the UT Administration at the UT Secretariat tomorrow.

Representatives of various departments of the Administration will give presentations on functioning of their respective department and status of projects to the Administrator.

Kataria (79) was sworn in as Punjab Governor and UT Administrator on August 1. Previously the Assam Governor, he replaced Banwarilal Purohit. Kataria, who belongs to Udaipur in Rajasthan, has served as the Rajasthan Home Minister twice — from 2004-08 and from 2015-18 — and was the leader of the opposition in the Rajasthan Assembly.
