Panchkula’s Keshav Malik defeated Ambala’s Arnav Jain 15-3 15-4 in the opening boys’ U-15 match of the 1st Yonex Sunrise AMBA Open Badminton Tournament at AM Badminton Academy, Zirakpur.

In other matches, Swayam Saini defeated Arpan Jeet Singh 15-3 15-2, Pratik overpowered Navdeep Panghal 15-10 15-9 and Ranvijay defeated) Shaurya Garg 15-13 15-14. Una’s Ritesh Choudhary logged a comeback 14-15 15-10 15-7 win over Ambala’s Naitik, while Vihan Kathpalia defeated Vatsal Chauhan 15-4 15-10. Amritsar’s Kritagya Arora also marched ahead by defeating Kushagra Khunger 15-5 15-11 and Kabir Khurana defeated Aayush 15-5 15-6. Nirmit Pal recorded a 15-14 15-12 win over Harsh and Nitin Sharma ousted Lakshya 15-4 15-6.

In the boys’ U-19 category, Tanveer defeated Ashmeet Singh Dheer 15-8 15-8 and Harshit overpowered Naman Narang 15-9 15-8.

Ditya won the opening match of the girls’ U-17 category by defeating Agrima 15-13 15-6. Chandigarh’s Anupriya ousted Prikriti 15-3 15-5 and Navdeep overpowered a tough challenge by Aditi 15-13 13-15 15-7. Tanishka Nandal defeated Jaanhavi 15-6 15-4.
