During interrogation, Hamza revealed the name of his associate. Acting on this information, the Crime Branch arrested the gang’s weapons supplier, Jaswinder Singh, a resident of Paonta Sahib.

Both men are being questioned to trace the source and supply network of the illegal weapons.

The investigation has also uncovered that four men were involved in the November 19 early morning robbery of a Tata Nexon taxi at gunpoint under the Ramgarh bridge. A day earlier, on November 18, the accused had snatched a mobile phone in Chandigarh, which they then used to book the taxi via an app. The police probe revealed that the gang intended to use the stolen car to execute the murder of a Paonta Sahib youth named Rishabh.
