The Registration and Licensing Authority (RLA) here today auctioned the remaining fancy numbers of various previous series.

The series include “CH01CA”, CH01BZ”, “CH01-BY”, “CH01-BX”, “CH01-BW”, “CH01-BV”, “CH01-BU”, “CH01-BT” and “CH01-BS”.

An official from the department said that the RLA received more response to the new series of CH01-CA. The highest bid in the auction was for CH01CA0017 which fetched a price of Rs91,000 against the reserve price of Rs20,000. Similarly, CH01CA0080 fetched Rs62,000, while 0060 got Rs48,000, 0027 received Rs53,000, 0096 fetched Rs 32,000, 0028 fetched Rs29,000 and 0063 received Rs29,000. — TNS

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
