Panic gripped the Pinjore area after a leopard cub was spotted by the riverside near the Shivlotia Temple around 6 pm this evening. The young leopard, seemingly separated from its mother, was seen being chased by a pack of dogs, drawing concern from local residents.

According to the information, alert bystanders intervened and managed to scare the dogs away.

The promptly reached out to the Forest Department, which dispatched a rescue team to the location without delay.

Upon arrival, the team rescued the cub unharmed. According to Forest Inspector Surjeet, the animal may have wandered away from its mother when they were drinking water by the river.

The cub is now in the care of the department, while a search operation has been launched in the surrounding forested areas to ensure that no other leopard cubs are missing or in distress.

In light of the incident, authorities have urged residents of the Pinjore region to remain vigilant and avoid venturing close to the forest area and the riverside, particularly during early mornings and evenings.
