Chandigarh, August 28

The Chandigarh Meteorological Department has issued a forecast of light rain for the next three days. The city received 15 mm of rainfall till 8:30 am today. The maximum temperature recorded in the city today was 34.4°C, which is two degrees above normal, while the minimum stood at 23.7°C, which is a degree above normal. Though thundery development is expected in the coming days, the temperature is not expected to see much departure. — TNS

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
