Shankar was presented before a court on Tuesday, which remanded him in police custody for a day.

On June 25, the police had received information on the control room that a woman, later identified as Kulwanti, was lying unconscious at a house in Burail. As per neighbours, a violent argument had occurred between Shankar and Kulwanti following which the man fled.

A case was registered at the Sector 34 police station.
