Mahika stuns top seed for tennis title

After winning the doubles title, local trainee Mahika Khanna of Uttar Pradesh stunned top seed Delhi’s Tejasvi Dabas in straight sets to win the CLTA-AITA National Ranking Championship Tennis Tournament for Women, which concluded at the Sector 10 Tennis Complex.

Mahika registered a 6-2, 6-2 win over her rival to bag the title. After winning the first set, Mahika broke the serve and led 3-0 in the second set. She maintained her momentum with a high intensity game. Mahika closed the second set and match 6-2. On Thursday, Mahika and Riya Sachdeva won the doubles title against top seed Ruma Gaikwair and Priyanka Rodricks.
